photoMP Welcome to my webpage! My name is Maria Petropoulou and I have recently joined the Physics Department of the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece, as an assistant professor in Astrophysics.

My research focuses on  High-Energy Astrophysics and, in particular, on the non-thermal radiation produced in astrophysical outflows. I am interested in identifying the sources of cosmic rays and astrophysical high-energy neutrinos. I investigate the potential of powerful astrophysical jets in accelerating particles and producing the photon emission that we observe. In an attempt to bridge theory with observations, I make model predictions that can be tested against the plethora of observations across the electromagnetic spectrum.
